Dear Readers and Supporters of LabNews Media LLC,
As the parent company of four dedicated platforms—labnews.io, defense-news.io, pugnalom.io, and augenauf.blog—we are proud to announce a pivotal step in our mission to deliver unfiltered, evidence-based journalism across life sciences, defense, environmental issues, and investigative reporting. LabNews has transitioned its primary domain from the EU-based lab-news.de to the globally neutral labnews.io. This move is not merely technical but a deliberate choice to break free from the increasingly restrictive environment of the European Union, ensuring the long-term preservation of our editorial independence.
Our Mission and the Challenges in the EU
LabNews Media LLC, headquartered in New Mexico, USA, was founded to provide rigorous, independent coverage of critical topics: labnews.io focuses on life sciences, biotechnology, and digital health; defense-news.io delivers insights into defense technologies and global security; pugnalom.io champions environmental protection, climate change, and renewable energy; and augenauf.blog exposes systemic issues through investigative journalism. Together, our portals serve a global audience seeking truth over narrative, free from corporate or political influence.
However, operating within the EU has become increasingly untenable. In August 2025, our X.com account (formerly Twitter) was suspended at the behest of the EU Commission under the Digital Services Act (DSA), without clear justification. The DSA, often criticized as a tool for censorship (as noted by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance), empowers the EU to pressure platforms into suppressing „undesirable“ content with threats of hefty fines. Our reporting—whether on the mishandling of COVID-19 policies, the influence of financial giants like BlackRock on European politics, or the environmental impact of misguided energy policies—appears to have been targeted. This suspension severed our ability to engage with millions of readers, undermining our mission and exposing the fragility of press freedom in the EU.
The lab-news.de domain, registered in the EU, left us vulnerable to further regulatory overreach, from hosting restrictions to potential content blocks. The broader EU environment, with its growing bureaucratic constraints, threatens independent voices across all our focus areas—whether it’s breakthroughs in medical research, defense innovations, climate solutions, or uncovering corruption. To protect our ability to report freely, we had to act decisively.

Why .io? A New Home for Uncompromising Journalism
The shift to labnews.io reflects our commitment to operate beyond the EU’s reach. The .io domain, originally tied to the British Indian Ocean Territory but now a global standard, is registered in the U.S. and benefits from the robust protections of the First Amendment. As a U.S.-based company, LabNews Media LLC can now ensure that all our platforms—labnews.io, defense-news.io, pugnalom.io, and augenauf.blog—remain insulated from EU censorship. The lab-news.de domain now seamlessly redirects to labnews.io, preserving access to our full archive, from analyses of regulatory T-cells in clinical settings to exposés on defense procurement scandals.
This transition is a statement of purpose: we reject a system where press freedom is eroded under the guise of regulation. By moving to .io domains for our primary platforms, we secure a digital space where open discourse thrives, unhindered by political agendas. Our readers in Europe and beyond deserve access to unfiltered reporting—whether it’s the destruction of the solar industry due to policy failures, the implications of NATO defense strategies, or whistleblower accounts of systemic corruption.
Our Unified Commitment Across All Portals
Each of our platforms plays a unique role in our ecosystem:
- labnews.io: Cutting-edge reporting on life sciences, from immunotherapy advancements to public health policy critiques.
- defense-news.io: In-depth analysis of defense technologies, geopolitics, and military innovation.
- pugnalom.io: Advocacy for sustainable solutions, climate action, and environmental justice.
- augenauf.blog: Investigative journalism exposing hidden truths, from corporate malfeasance to political cover-ups.
Together, we form a network dedicated to truth, transparency, and accountability. The domain shift for LabNews reinforces our ability to deliver on this promise, ensuring that all four portals can operate without fear of suppression.
