- Chemotherapie: Parallel zur Bestrahlung und anschließend als Erhaltungstherapie wird das Medikament Temozolomid eingesetzt.
- Tumortherapiefelder (TTFields): Diese nicht-invasive Behandlungsmethode kann zusätzlich angewendet werden.
Trotz intensiver Therapie ist die Prognose für Patienten mit Glioblastom leider nach wie vor ungünstig. Die mediane Überlebenszeit liegt bei etwa 15-18 Monaten[12].

Die Forschung arbeitet intensiv an der Entwicklung innovativer Behandlungsstrategien[12]:
